Your role encompasses a wide range of duties, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership: Advising the CEO, board of directors, and other senior executives on financial matters, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to guide the company’s financial decisions and ensure its long-term financial stability.
  • Financial Reporting: Overseeing the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to stakeholders such as investors, board members, and regulatory authorities.
  • Capital Management: Managing the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to optimize the balance between risk and return and support the company’s growth objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and assessing financial risks facing the company, such as market volatility, credit risk, and liquidity risk, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks effectively.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Working with tax experts to developing tax strategies to minimize the company’s tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Governance: Establishing and maintaining effective financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with investors, lenders, analysts, and other stakeholders to communicate the company’s financial performance, strategy, and outlook effectively.Treasury Management: Managing the company’s cash flow, liquidity, and investmentsto ensure sufficient funds are available to meet its operational and strategic needs while maximizing returns on surplus cash.

Education: Qualified CA(SA)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience of 5 – 10 years in a senior financial leadership role able to drive financial strategy and managing financial operations.
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting (science) or equivalent, along with Chartered Accounting (South Africa) designation. MBA is not required would be preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong Financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, conduct financial analysis, and make strategic recommendations to the board.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, anticipate trends, and develop innovative solutions to financial challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in financial management.
